DRE
Vernacular for this is a 'touch screen voting machine'. DRE stands for ??. This is not something currently on the OSDV road map.
Electronic Ballot Marking Device
Also known as Electronic Ballot printing device, Ballot on Demand device. OSDV is building an electronic balloting device that we need a good name for, but it prints ballots, and does not compute vote totals; the ballots are intended to be counted by an electronic counting system that works with COTS scanners.

Design Congress
The group of state and local election officials that provide comment and review on TTV work product, including but not limited to specifications and standards in the form of RFCs.
Jurisdiction
A collection of precincts. Often a county.
Precinct
Geographic extent within which everyone votes on the same ballot.
OSDV RFC
OSDV develops and maintains a library of election system design and requirements memos covering a broad range of interests related to open source digital voting processes, systems, and technology.
Polling Place
Physical place where voters go to vote.
TTV ETS or (Election Technology Suite)
Name of the complete suite of technology (hardware and software) being developed by or through TTV. It is composed of a handful of components.
Election Data Management Services
(Pito hates this name. How about TTV ETS/Web?) Components of the ETS delivered as Web apps rather than a dedicated device.
